TOLEDO, OH — Local man Jeremy Collins, 34, has become the unlikely poster child for extreme weight loss this week after shedding a stunning 25 kilograms in just seven days—thanks largely to a 50-kilogram dumbbell falling directly on his leg and removing it from his body “with shocking efficiency.”
“People always say the first week is the hardest,” said Collins from his hospital bed, smiling triumphantly while being fed pudding through a straw. “But honestly, after my left leg detached and was carried away in a biohazard bag, the weight just melted off.”
Sources confirmed Collins had joined FlexCore Gym last Monday in a bold attempt to “finally get shredded for summer” after seeing exactly one motivational reel on Instagram. On day two, however, while attempting to deadlift a barbell he described as “looking friendly,” he lost control and triggered a catastrophic domino effect that sent a rogue dumbbell flying off the rack like a heat-seeking missile aimed directly at his tibia.
“The trainer said, ‘Feel the burn.’ I didn’t realize that meant ‘Feel the trauma team applying pressure to your exposed femur,’” Collins added.
Despite the trauma, Collins remains upbeat and has already begun work on a fitness memoir titled Half the Man I Used to Be: The Jeremy Collins Story.
“He’s honestly an inspiration,” said fellow gym member and amateur fitness influencer Chad Rimmer. “Most people just quit after leg day. This guy eliminated leg day from his life. That’s commitment.”
Medical professionals remain baffled but cautiously optimistic. “We don’t recommend this method of weight loss,” said Dr. Linda Garza. “But technically, yes, he did lose 25 kilograms of mass. And roughly 60% of his ability to climb stairs.”
As of press time, Collins was reportedly considering losing his right leg “just to stay symmetrical.”
