SINGAPORE—What was meant to be a forceful disciplinary moment quickly collapsed into a brutal lesson in supply and demand Wednesday, when a local teacher’s threat to “give a piece of her mind” was met with real-time consumer feedback regarding portion control.

The incident occurred during a Secondary 3 lesson, when an increasingly agitated Mrs. Wong—frustrated by her students’ complete inability to hand in homework on time—dramatically announced that she was about to give them all “a piece of her mind.”

Unfortunately for Mrs. Wong, her students immediately turned this into an impromptu customer service dispute.

“No thanks, I’m good,” said student Jeremy Tan, 15, politely declining the offer like a diner refusing a side of cold coleslaw.

Before Mrs. Wong could even process the rejection, another student, Kenneth Lim, 16, raised his hand.

“Cher, can I have two pieces? Yours seem kinda small.”

According to education experts, Kenneth’s response demonstrated an advanced application of both critical thinking and situational awareness, making it one of the few times a student has perfectly executed the government’s push for “21st-century skills.”

However, Mrs. Wong remained unconvinced.

At press time, she was seen furiously setting an assignment titled “Crime & Punishment”—which, in a tragic cruel twist of irony, was still unlikely to be submitted on time.
